If you’re a fan of the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family, then you’re probably crushing hard on the adorable, and all-around talented Sarah Hyland. On the show, Sarah plays Haley, the eldest daughter of the Dunphy household. The character often comes off as totally scatterbrained, at least when you compare her to her on-screen smarty pants sister, Alex, played by actress Ariel Winter.

Haley Dunphy is also known for having some serious issues with her love life. Remember her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dylan? Ugh! He just as dopey as he was cute! 15. She Has No Problem Defending Herself From Haters

Unfortunately, when you’re a celebrity, you have to accept that fact that not everyone in the world is going to like you.

Dealing with meanies in school is tough, but when you’re in the limelight, the hate is ten times worse.

People started criticizing Sarah, claiming she looked “way too skinny.” But this was back in 2012 when her condition with kidney dysplasia wasn’t going well, as she had spent several months on bed rest.

According to the BBC, she didn’t let the haters have the last word, and quickly defended herself by posting on Twitter: “I’m not in control of what my body looks like. I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should.”
